NG1 – Wednesday 9th December 2020 Written Test: (Open Book) – submitted within 24 Hours.
NG2 – Risk Assessment based work place activities (not an exam) – submitted 2 weeks before or after 9th December 2020.

Full Description

  • The NEBOSH National General Certificate is the most popular and recognised health and safety qualification of its kind.
  • First introduced in 1989, it is held by more than 190,000 people.
  • Holders of this accredited qualification are able to identify, evaluate and control a wide range of workplace hazards.
  • The qualification encourages a pragmatic approach to managing risk and covers the main legal requirements for health and safety in the UK.
  • The General Certificate is split into 2 modules;
    • NG1 – Health and Safety Law and Management Systems
    • NG2 – Management of Health and Safety in the Workplace
  • Course tuition and private study time requirements;
    • Unit NG1: 36 hours tuition and 20 hours private study Total: 56 hours
    • Unit NG2   : 36 hours tuition and 20 hours private study Total: 56 hours
    • Unit NG2   : Preparation for Risk Assessment based report: 2 hours tuition and 4 hours private study Total: 6 hours
  • A programme of study therefore needs to be based around a minimum of 68 taught hours and approximately 40 hours of private study for an overall total of 112 Hours.
  • Quoted hours do not include assessment time, ie, sitting written examinations or the practical application unit.
  • Entry requirements:
    • There are no specific barriers, in terms of academic qualifications, skills or experience to entry to the NEBOSH National General Certificate programme.
    • However, it should be noted that currently the modules are offered, and must be answered, in English only.
    • The qualification includes a requirement to write a Risk Assessment based report, conducted on the candidate’s own workplace.
    • Minimum standard of English required for candidates: The standard of English required must be such that they can understand and articulate the concepts contained and also be able to write English to an acceptable standard.
